Breezaire WKSL 4000 Wine Cellar Cooling System
Breezaire WKSL 4000 Split Wine Cellar Cooling System
The Breezaire WKSL 4000 is a professional split-system wine cellar cooling unit designed for properly constructed and insulated wine cellars up to approximately 1,000 cubic feet. The system separates the evaporator and condenser into two independently installed modules, providing installation flexibility while helping reduce operating noise inside the wine cellar.
The WKSL 4000 features Breezaire's Sentry III+ digital control system with electronic controls and a digital temperature display. Automatic humidity management, a high-temperature alarm, and power-outage protection help maintain controlled conditions for long-term wine storage.
The split-system configuration allows the condenser to be positioned away from the wine cellar. The condenser can be placed up to 50 feet from the cellar, helping reduce operational sound within the storage area while providing additional installation flexibility. The system also incorporates vibration-dampening components to help reduce disturbance within the cellar environment.
The WKSL 4000 requires professional HVAC or refrigeration installation. Installation requires copper refrigerant lines, low-voltage control wiring, system evacuation, refrigerant charging, and a properly constructed wine cellar with adequate insulation, a continuous vapor barrier, sealed doors, and appropriate condenser ventilation.

Cellar Construction Considerations
The WKSL 4000 is designed to operate in a properly constructed wine cellar. Cellar construction and environmental conditions can affect the cooling load and overall system performance.
- Insulation: Proper wall and ceiling insulation is required.
- Vapor Barrier: A continuous vapor barrier is required.
- Door Sealing: The cellar door should be properly sealed.
- Ambient Temperature: Controlled ambient conditions are important for proper system performance.
- Glass Exposure: Extensive glass exposure can increase the cooling load.
- Condenser Ventilation: Proper ventilation must be provided for the condenser.
- Cellar Access: Frequent door openings can increase the cooling load.
Recommended Accessory
Breezaire Bottle Probe: The optional Bottle Probe measures the temperature of the wine bottle rather than the surrounding air temperature, providing an additional method of monitoring actual wine temperature.
