A single-zone cooler forces you to pick: cold drinks or frozen food, not both. The FM-62DZ gives each of its two compartments its own independent control, so one side can hold refrigerator temperatures while the other runs as a hard freezer — and it does it on AC power at home or DC power on the road.
Independent Zone Control

Each of the two zones is independently controlled and can be configured as a refrigerator or a freezer, not locked into one or the other. Set a wide refrigerator range for drinks and produce, or drop into freezer territory for meat, ice, and ice cream — in either compartment, at the same time.

Food and drinks don't all need the same temperature, and the FM-62DZ doesn't force them to share one. Each zone is set independently, with an LED display to monitor both, an open-door warning if a compartment isn't sealed, and Fast Freeze mode when a zone needs to hit freezer temperatures quickly.

Can I run both compartments as freezers instead of one fridge and one freezer?
Yes. Each of the two zones is independently controlled, so you can set both as freezers, both as refrigerators, or one of each — whatever the trip calls for.
How cold does it actually get?
Refrigerator mode runs from 32°F to 50°F, and freezer mode runs from -8°F to 32°F. Fast Freeze mode is built in for times you need a zone to reach -8°F quickly.
Does it need to sit level, or can I use it while traveling?
It's designed to operate at up to a 30° tilt, so it's built to keep running in a moving vehicle or on uneven ground, not just on a flat kitchen floor.
Can I power it from my car or a battery bank instead of a wall outlet?
Yes. The FM-62DZ runs on either 115V/60Hz AC power or 12V/24V DC power, and it comes with both an 8-foot AC cord and a 10-foot DC cord.
